Megan Turns One! | fort smith, ar baby photographer
Megan and her cousins came to see me a few days ago. Megan will be turning one soon, so we also did some cake smashing photos in the studio. She is definitely a pro when it comes to eating cake!

liz, senior 2011 | fort smith, ar senior pictures
Liz is the winner of the Hottest Senior 2011 Contest that I ran on Facebook. It was between her and another senior for the last few days of the contest. They were neck and neck until Liz won by just a few votes. She is a super sweet girl and completely deserving of winning the contest. I couldn’t have asked for a better winner! Gorgeous girl, great clothes, and a sweet personality.
Good luck in the future, Liz!

what to wear | senior picture photography fort smith, ar
I recommend that seniors bring 3 outfits: 1 traditional outfit for grandma, 1 trendy outfit, and 1 really dressy and fabulous outfit. This will give your senior pictures variety and let you have many different looks that is sure to please everyone.
All the clothing and shoes are from wet seal and can be purchased online.
what to wear | spring portrait sessions
I really love colorful clothing with a lot of layers or textures for sessions. This kind of clothing really makes your session pop. Everyone wearing white shirts doesn’t really do it for me. How great would this plum color look outside for a spring session??
Lane: Southside Senior 2011 | Fort Smith, AR Senior Picture Photographer
I did Lane’s senior session yesterday afternoon, and it was pretty darn cold and windy! You can’t tell from the photos, though!
Lane plays football at Southside, so we incorporated it into his session.

vintage engagement session | tulsa, ok wedding photographer
I have been wanting to do a vintage inspired engagement session, so I am loving this session by photographer Adrienne Gunde.

Tips for a vintage themed engagement session:
- Clothing: A cute, flirty dress and heels is a must alongside your guy in suspenders and a newsboy hat
- Hair and Makeup: long, loose, romantic curls or a retro-inspired up-do paired with killer red lips and black eyeliner on the top lids only slightly winged out from the side of the eye
- Props: anything vintage! suitcases, quilts, wire birdcages, vintage cameras, flowers, bicycles, vintage car, picnic basket, stacks of books, etc.
flush mount wedding albums | nwa wedding photographer
I have always offered my signature 12×12 wedding album, but I decided to give my clients another option for their wedding albums: flush mount albums! These albums are goooorgeous. They come in a ton of different cover options, including the brown alligator leather on the sample album. They can also be ordered in three sizes:12×6 (as pictured), 10×10, or 12×12. Personally, I really love the skinny, modern look of the 12×6 album. The pages are mounted on thick matboard and the images stretch all the way across both pages without a gutter line in the middle. These are super durable and will last forever.

urban and edgy engagement session | fort smith, ar wedding photography
So in my last post I mentioned themed engagement sessions. My first example is an edgy, urban engagement shoot in some alley ways in downtown Fort Smith, AR. These places are just a short walk away from my studio, so it makes it so easy!
Shane and Cheri completely rocked the session. Their outfit choices were perfect. I love the suit and how his tie matches her blouse.

Tips for an urban engagement session:
- Stay away from boring, traditional clothing! Think bold colors that complement your skin tones (I love jewel tones!), fun textures, and trendy pieces.
- Bring the accessories! Notice Cheri’s amazing rainbow colored heels? They totally make the outfit. Bring fun shoes, chunky jewelry, hats, scarves, whatever!
- Bring the attitude! Don’t plan on just standing there and cheesing it up for the camera. You have to be fierce in an urban setting like this.
