Jenny and David were married at the gorgeous Ravington for their spring wedding in Centerton, AR. The weather forecast called for 100% chance of rain all day. However, the rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of Jenny, David, and all of their friends and family. I think Jenny had a smile on her face from the second I saw her to the very end!

Willing to wait.

There they sat. On the floor of the movie theater. Jenny’s most anticipated movie of the year – Harry Potter. Camping out at the movies for over 24 hours to be sure they got THE SEATS for THE MOVIE. Willing to wait.

I listened intently as Jenny’s father gave his toast:

“However, the words willing to wait went a lot deeper than just a movie. As time would go on when David would first see Jenny. And he was smitten by her. Jenny, being the girl she was, wasn’t quite sure. But David was willing to wait. And Jenny was willing to wait and see. It’s very important in a relationship to be willing to wait. I want you two to remember how important that it, and for some reason, fate has made that a part of your relationship.

I would love to see you two get a flower pot, put great soil in it, and plant the seeds of a red bud tree. And watch those seeds grow. And all those times the tree buds, all those beautiful buds, I want you to think about all these beautiful faces here that all love and support you. So when there are times of strife, which occur, remember that any of these people here would be willing to help you through any difficult situation.

So as that tree grows, and you eventually get in your own home, transplant that tree in your yard. Make it your tree of love. And every year that tree blossoms, think about all these people here and the blossoms on that tree. Every year remind yourselves of that. And have the words “willing to wait” engraved on that tree.”

Jenny and David, as you look at some of the highlights from your wedding, I hope you two will always remember to share each other’s laughter and joy and look for the brightness and fun in life. I love you both!
